शनिवार को बैसाखी का अवकाश व अगले दिन रविवार होने के कारण देहरादून व आसपास के क्षेत्रों से भारी संख्या में श्रद्धालु श्री झण्डे जी मेले के लिए आने शुरू हो गए थे। 30 मार्च को श्री झण्डे जी आरोहण के बाद दून के ऐतिहासिक श्री झण्डे जी महोत्सव का आगाज हो चुका है। देश विदेश से आई संगतें श्री झण्डे जी आरोहण कर अपने अपने गृह जनपदों को वापिस जा चुकी हैं। अब देहरादून व आसपास के क्षेत्रों से श्रद्धालु श्री झण्डे जी पर माथा टेकने पहुंच रहे हैं और मेले की रौनक में चार चांद लगा रहे हैं। श्री दरबार साहिब में संगतों के लिए लंगर प्रसाद की व्यवस्था की गई थी।
श्री दरबार साहिब के इतिहास के साथ देहरादून के नाम का इतिहास भी छिपा हुआ है। देश विदेश की संगतों के साथ साथ दूनवासियों की भी श्री दरबार साहिब एवम् श्री झण्डा साहिब पर अटूट आस्था है। श्री झण्डे जी आरोहण के बाद देहरादून नगर व आसपास के क्षेत्रों से भारी संख्या में श्रद्धालु श्री दरबार साहिब एवम् श्री झण्डे जी पर माथा टेकने पहुंचते हैं। श्री झण्डे जी महोत्सव के उपलक्ष्य में लगा बाजार इन दिनों दूनवासियों से गुलजार है। रविवार को मेले में जुटी भीड़ देखकर मेला व्यापारियों के चेहरे दिन भर खिले रहे।
मेले में आए लोगों ने मेला बाजार व मेले में लगे झूलों का मन भरकर आनन्द उठाया। श्री दरबार साहिब स्थित पवित्र सरोवर जीर्णोद्धार के बाद और भी खूबसूरत हो गया है। रात के समय पवित्र सरोवर की आभा देखते ही बन रही है। आकर्षक रोशनी की चकाचैंध ने पवित्र सरोवर की आभा को अद्भुत, अतुलनीय बना दिया है।
